WINDOWS SHORTCUT KEYS

Use shortcut keys as an alternative to the mouse when working in Windows. You can open, close, and navigate the Start menu, desktop, menus, dialog boxes, and Web pages using keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard shortcuts may also make it easier for you to interact with your computer.
Ctrl:Depressing the Ctrl key while clicking allows multiple selections. Holding the Ctrl key down and pressing other key combinations will initiate quite a few actions. Some of the more common ones are listed below.

Ctrl + A - select all
Ctrl + B - change list-box position
Ctrl + C - copy
Ctrl + D - clear text
Ctrl + E - Edit SQL using editor
Ctrl + F - find
Ctrl + G - show/hide data grid
Ctrl + H - view SQL history
Ctrl + I   - go to line
Ctrl + L  - lower case
Ctrl + M - capitalize text
Ctrl + N - open another SQL window
Ctrl + O - open query
Ctrl + P - print SQL
Ctrl + R - replace
Ctrl + S - save query
Ctrl + T - switch to another table
Ctrl + U - upper case
Ctrl + V - paste
Ctrl + W - line wrap
Ctrl + X -  cut
Ctrl + Y - redo
Ctrl + Z - undo



Another Ctrl keys:

Ctrl + F4 -    Close the active document in programs that allow  you to have multiple documents open simultaneously.
Ctrl + F5 -     go to results window
Ctrl + F7 -     export to table
Ctrl + F11 -   comment text
Ctrl + F12 -   uncomment text
Ctrl + Shift + F5 -    search table

Ctrl+Shift while draging an item -    Create Shortcut to selected item.
Ctrl+Right arrow      - Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next word.
Ctrl+Left arrow        - Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word.
Ctrl+Down arrow     - Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next paragraph. 
Ctrl+Up arrow         - Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous paragraph. 
Ctrl + Shift with any of the arrow key   - highlight a block of text.
Ctrl + Esc       -   Display the start menu.
Ctrl + Tab       -   Move forward through tabs.
Ctrl+Shift+Tab -  Move backward through tabs.



Another Short keys:


SHIFT+DELETE   - Delete selected item permanently without placing the item in the  Recycle Bin.
SHIFT with any of the arrow keys    - Select more than one item in a window or on the desktop, or select text within a document.

SHIFT+F10     - Display the shortcut menu for the selected item.

ALT+ENTER      - View properties for the selected item/Displays the properties of the selected object.
ALT+F4           -  Close the active item, or quit the active item.
ALT+SPACEBAR    - Opens the shortcut menu for the active window/Display the System menu for the active window.         
ALT+TAB         -  Switch between open items.
ALT+ESC         - Cycle through items in the order they were opened.
ALT+ Underlined letter in a menu name         -  Display the corresponding menu.            

BACKSPACE       - View the folder one level up in My Computer or Windows Explorer/ Open a folder one level up if a folder is selected in the Save As or Open dialog box.
ESC          -   Cancel the current task.
SHIFT when you insert a CD into the CD-ROM drive   -  Prevent the CD from automatically playing.
TAB          -  Move forward through options.
SHIFT+TAB         - Move backward through options.
ALT+Underlined letter     -  Carry out the corresponding command or select the corresponding option.
ENTER        -  Carry out the corresponding command or select the corresponding option.
SPACEBAR     -  Select or clear the check box if the active option is a check box.

Arrow Keys      -  Select a button if the active option is a group of option buttons.














FUNCTION KEYS:function key is a key on a computer or terminal keyboard which can be programmed so as to cause an operating system command interpreter or application program to perform certain actions, a form of soft key.             
F1: Opens the help page of the working program.
F2: Renames a highlighted icon or file. Alt + Ctrl + F2 and Ctrl + F2 give some more functions.
F3Search feature for many programs including web browsers.
F4Repeats last action performed while typing in MS WORD. Alt + F4 key closes all active window.  
F5: Refreshes (updates) pages in web browsers and other applications.
F6: Moves cursor to writing web address at the address bar.
F7: Normally opens a “spell checker” but this key can be reassigned, depending on configurations and       software.
F8: It can perform several functions, and does not have an assigned Windows default. However, when       starting Windows 2000 or Windows XP, holding the F8 key will boot in Safe Mode.
F9: Opens the Measurements toolbar in Quark 5.0.
F10: Activates the menu bar in many programs. Shift + F10 + mouse can be used for an external                   function.
F11: Sets to full screen on most of the programs.
F12: In Microsoft Word, this key can be used for saving documents, and also opens up developer tools         window in most of the browsers, and, on most of the newer computers that allow PXE Boot, this             button allows users to boot from the network.


Windows Keys:

                        Display or hide the start menu.

 +BREAK       Display the system properties dialog box.
 +D                   Show the Desktop.

 +M                  Minimize all windows.
 +Shift+M        Restores minimized windows.
 +E                   Open My Computer.
+F                   Search for a file or folder.
 +F+Ctrl          Search for computers.
+F1     Display Windows Help.
 +L                   Lock your computer if you are connected to a network domain, or switch users if you are not connected to a network domain.
 +R                   Open the Run dialog box.
+U                   Open Utility Manager.


Accessibility keyboard shortcuts:

Right SHIFT for eight seconds   -Switch Filter Keys on and off.
Left ALT+Left SHIFT+ PRINT SCREEN        -Switch High Contrast on and off.
Left ALT+ Left SHIFT+ NUM LOCK       -Switch Mouse Keys on and off.
SHIFT five times     -Switch Sticky Keys on and off.

NUM LOCK for five seconds       -Switch Toggle Keys on and off.
